Picking up my date
A lot has changed since the good old days regarding manners when coming to pick a girl up for a first date. Although mainly insignificant, the pickup act still has it’s does and don’t which can affect the way the evening goes.
An important note to remember is that when you meet your date for the first time get used to kissing on the cheek - don’t handshake or just say “hi”.
By kissing on the cheek you show that you are a more open and easy going person, and you escalate physically.

Each one of this has it’s pro and cons. And choosing the right option relays mainly on the interaction preceding the pickup (how long you two know each other). In these next pages are some useful first date tips and dating advice regarding this matter.
The guy picks the girl up
As we mentioned before although this is the most common pickup it’s also the most frightening for the girl - if she doesn’t know you very well.
Keep that in mind, you can either show her you understand and suggest that you talk a little more outside the car or you can just make fun of her for thinking you’re a perv. Both options will do great as long as you’re minded to her and show her “you get it”.
Little acts of chivalry like waiting out side the car are recommended but don’t go overboard with them.
The girl picks the guy up
Usually not very common but this situation can occur as well. The idea is to feel comfortable with this and not feel the need to apologize you’re not “doing your job as a guy”. Have fun with it - tease her a little for being your scoffer and taking you out on a date.
Meeting at the place of the first date
This will usually occur if you live far away from each other or the girl doesn’t feel comfortable getting in the car with someone she doesn’t know that well. This is the most “neutral” option of the 3 suggested here as there is no way to screw it up.
The only down side here is that if you intend for the purpose of your first date to be "just for fun" than it's going to be a lot harder to take it further on the physical level when you arrive in seperate cars.
